14 days travel in Sichuan
Day01: Chengdu ---------------------- L/D ------------------ 3* Khamding hotel
Meet you at your hotel and then start the tour at 0830AM. do visits to Zhaojue temple and Panda research & feeding center; both are 110 to 15 kilometers to the north east corner outside the city.
Day02: Chengdu to Dujiangyan to Mt. Qingcheng - B/L/D - Dujiangyan Erwangmiao hotel
At 0830AM, leave for Mt. Qingcheng, which is 55 kilometers to the north of Chengdu city, which is thought to be one of the 4 moast famous scared Daoists temples in China. when getting to Mt. Qingcheng, take cable car to the top, then walk down, on the way, visit Guanri Pavillion, Tianshi cave and Hall to ancestors of Daoists; after visit to Mt. Qingcheng, go and visit Dujiangyan Irrigation water project (230 - 206 B.C. by Li Bin). this project is one of the oldest water projects in the world and after almost 2200 years, the project is still in use and has benefited most people in Sichuan.
Day03: Dujiangyan to Jiuzhaigou ------- B/L ----- 4* Hotel at Jiuzhaigou
Whole day drive northward to Jiuzhaigou reserve; in mid afternoon, arrive in Jiuzhaigou
Day04: Jiuzhaigou sightseeing ----------- B/L/D ----------- 3* Hotel
You have a full day tour to Multi-coloured Lakes which are scaterred through the Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve, such as Rorhilang Water Falls, Shuzhen water fall, Water fall of pearls, Long Lake and the Panda lake, and more...., if the weather is sunny, it is my promise that here will be your paradise of photo taking.
Generally, Jiuzhaigou looks like a big "Y" on its shape, the netrance to the nature is at the bottom of the "Y"; if you are real photo lover, I suggest you a a 4 day round-flight tour or a 5 days coach tour to this breamland.
In the evening, you can enjoy the local performance (self pay).
Day05: Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong to Songpan ----- B/L/D --------- Songpan Huanglong Intl Hotel
At 0700AM, leave Jiuzhaigou and drive to Huanglong Nature Reserve; Huanglong is located in a valley 55 kilometers to the east of Chuangzhusi town; it is about 100 kilometers between Chuanzhusi and Jiuzhaigou; visit the Huanglong Monastery and the Multi-coloured Pools. At last drive to Songpan county for night.
Huanglong is famous for is colorful calcificated deposit from water rich of calcium, the deposit looks golden under the flowing water; its shape and its colour is like a swiming dragon in the shining ripple of the down flowing waters.
Day06: Songpan to Wolong ------------------- B/L ------------- Wolong panda hotel
Leaving Songpan at 0800AM, drive to Wolong panda research and feeding center, see lovely panda bears
Day07: Wolong to Rilong ---------------------- B/L ------------ Mt. Siguniang Intl hotel
Early start from Wolong, the drive (100KM) requires about 3 hours, do hike to Haizigou valley
Day08: Rilong/Mt. Siguniangs to Danba to Bamei to Tagong --- B/L -- Sihai hotel
Drive 245 kilometers to reach Tagong; naturally sightseeing. Drive aong a river till get to Donggu pass (3780Meters), if weather is nice, the snow capped peak of Mt. Yala can be seen clearly here (see picture to the left). Local towered farm houses in Danba area will impress you for its unique style of archetecture with strong Qiang features. 8 Kilometers before Bamei, where is a Tibetan monastery - Huiyuan monastery, it was said that the 7th Dalai Lama once lived here for some years before he was throned in Potala palace after Muslim army moved into Lhasa in 18th century.
Day09: Tagong to Khamding (110KM) ---- B/L ---- 4* Qingge hotel or Gesa'er hotel
Spending time to visit Tagong monastery and Tagong Buddhism college (if the college is open); this college is only 1.5 kilometers behind the small town.
In the afternoon, drive southward for Khamding, the local political, economical and cultural center of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous prefecture; on the way there, visit Juli monastery at the east of Xinduqiao town, which is less toured by travellers and is kept very original.
Day10: Khamding to Luding to Mt. Emeishan ------ B/L ------ 4* Emeishan hotel
After your time at Kangding, the gate to Tibet, drive eastward to Mt. Emeishan (also named as Mt. Emei) for sightseeing; in late afternoon, reaching Emeishan town
Day11: Mt. Emeishan sightseeing------ B/L ------ 4* Emeishan hotel
The whole day sightseeing at Mt. Emeishan, a Buddhism mountain. First, visit Jinding (the mountain top) and Huazang temple by cable car, have lunch in the mountain; in the afternoon, visit Wanian temple, Qinyin temple and the lovely monkey.
Day12: Mt. Emei to Leshan to Chengdu city
In the morning, Drive 30 kilometers southwards to Leshan to visit the famous Leshan Big buddha statue (71 meters, carved out of a whole piece of mountain), which is seat at the conjunction of 3 rivers: Mingjjiang river, Qingyijiang river and Dadu river. We visit the Buddha by boat first, then get on the mountain. After it, drive back to Chengdu
Day13: Chengdu ---------------------- L/D ------------------ 3* Khamding hotel
In the morning, start the tour at 0830AM, go and visit Jinsha museum, the museum to 'Old-Shu' civilization; the exhibits inside the Jinsha museum presents the arts and technology about 5000 years ago of ancient people dwelling in the present land of Chengdu plain. we suggest to have lunch in Longchaoshou snacks restaurant, which is one of the famous brands in Chengdu for its snacks
In the afternoon, first visit is to local arts and crafts market - Songxianqiao market; after here, do visit to Qingyanggong palace, a Daoist temple wish a history over 1300 years; and in the end of the day, finish the tour sightseeing at Wenshu temple, located in the northeast corner of the city inside the 1st ring road of Chengdu city (Chengdu city has 3 ring roads).
Day14: Leaving Chengdu ----- B
At the agreed time, the driver and the guide will meet you at your hotel, then send you to Chengdu shuangliu international airport for your connecting flight to next destination.
