Lhasa Shoton festival celebration 2008

(Shoton festival begins on Aug. 30th and ends at Sept. 5th)

Aug. 28th - Day01: Fly to Lhasa -------L -------- Local 3* Hotel

Taking morning flight into Tibet, upon your arrival, local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the heart -- beating highland view along the Yalu Zangbu river (the longest river in Tibet, the lower reach in India is called Brham Putra river); in the afternoon, you are free .

Aug. 29th - Day02: Lhasa sightseeing -----B/L ----Local 3* Hotel

In the morning, visit the grand -- looking Potala Palace, which was built in the 7th century for the King. In the afternoon, visit Jokhang temple and Tibet Museum. Then stroll in the famous local bazaar - Parkhor street.

Aug. 30th - Day03: Lhasa sightseeing ----B/L -----Local 3* Hotel

Join in the opening ceremony of Lhasa Shoton festival at Tsepun monastery; the celebration will be held in Tsepun monastery, Sera monastery and Norbulinka palace

Visit Tsepung monastery which is the biggest monastery in Tibet. Then visit Sera monastery and Norbulingka which can give you deep impression of Tibet arts and civilization.

Aug. 31st - Day04: touring in Lhasa ----B/L -----Local 3* Hotel

For the festival; the guide and the driver will be sending you to place where you want to go inside Lhasa city area; if you want to go out of Lhasa city for a tour, please talk to your guide and the driver for extra service

Sept. 1st - Day05: leaving Lhasa in afternoon for your next destination ----- B only

In the morning, you are free; after lunch time (around 12:30), the guide and the ddriver will meet you at your hotel and then send you to Lhasa Gongga airport to your next destination

----- Attention: train leaves Lhasa railway station in the morning (before 10:30); this means if you want to leave Tibet by train, you must depart in the morning or the next morning; it requires around 45 hours to 52 hours to get to your destination (it is subject to where you will go)
